Programme structure

Two parts (Part A and Part B). Part B has two streams. Each part has 7 units and 3 hours of class per unit. Total 14 units, 42 hours in-class. Students complete all 7 Part A units plus 7 Part B units in either Stream 1 or Stream 2.

The full course includes all Part A units and seven Part B units. To be awarded the TTC, complete all seven units of the corresponding TTC Course within three years from the first unit attended, and both Part A and Part B examinations within six years from the first class. Certificate available 4-6 weeks after passing both exams. Certificates are NOT reissued.

Eligibility: Trust industry veterans with generally at least 10 years' active experience in a trust-related field. Decision by the HKTA Membership Subcommittee. Application fee HK$5,000.

Examination time 4:00pm. Enrolment for the training and examination package opened 16 December 2025. eCourse format; learners have 180 days from enrolment to complete the training. No enrolment deadline from 2026 onwards.

  • 90-minute computer-based exam per part, 60 multiple-choice questions in English, pass mark 70%.
  • Separate exams for Part A, Part B Stream 1, and Part B Stream 2.
  • Venue: In person at HKSI Institute, 17/F, Cambridge House, Taikoo Place, 979 King's Road, Quarry Bay.
  • Deferral: A student who completed Part A or Part B may defer sitting the exam for a maximum of 3 years from the first unit attended; after 3 years must re-enrol.
  • Scheduling: Learners must schedule and attempt the examination within 180 days of completing all 7 units; first-come-first-served; rescheduling up to 6 full days before the session.
Recognition
Each completed unit gives 3 CPT / OPT / CPD hours recognised by the SFC, the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA) and the HKTA. Units 21 and 22 are accredited for MPFA core CPD points.

Fees include study guide with executive summary, review questions, legislative examples, sample exam questions and slides on HKSI Institute Online Portal, plus a free revision class at the end of each Part.

CTP designation requirements
  • Awarded the HKTA Trust Training Certificate (TTC) by attending the training course and passing the exam
  • Minimum of two years relevant hands-on experience before, during or after study for the TTC course
  • Join HKTA as an individual member (HKD2,000 per annum), agreeing to all membership standards including Fit and Proper requirements and Best Practice Guidelines
  • Continuous Professional Training ("CPT"): 6 hours per calendar year (1 January to 31 December). Each course unit qualifies for CPT accreditation; applicable annually from the first full calendar year after CTP designation is awarded Annual maintenance fee HK$1,000.
